I met Vaclav in New York!

We met last Monday for lunch at the Oyster Bar in NYC. We spent the entire afternoon together. I enjoyed his company a great deal. He's far less eccentric than his online personailty would suggest, though it would not do him justice to say he's not at all eccentric. But while he has a distinct presence, he is a completely normal guy -- which is to say that if any of you met him, you would probably like him.

For the time being, though, I'm proud to say that I have the distinction of being the only forum member to have met Vaclav in person.

That is great.  Did he wear the triple tweed? I also would like to meet V some day.

And so the legend is real after all.

I feel that perhaps this ecunimical council is the first step to repair the great divide.

Re: I met Vaclav in New York!

Thank you for the kind word TS, I enjoyed all the time, especially sharing that lobster roll and looking at the ties, with the pregnant woman.

TS, is a gentleman, and would not say I was dressed like a street person. LL BD, jeans, and camp moccs. After our meeting, I had to replace Mr. Bodnar's AC, so this excuse I'll take. TS was dressed very nice, even with a pocket napkin.

At first I felt, something unsecure, about meeting a member of the forum. But after 2 beers, and interesting conversation, I was feeling very good walking down Madsion ave.

I recommend meeting TS to everyone!

Lobster rolls with Mr. Vaclav should become the new New York iconic meal.
A Breakfast at Sir Winston Churchills Flem spoon.'s for our times.
I too would love to meet the great man, either in NYC or here in London.
I imagine he has very soulful eyes...  has he?

Vaclav will be our diplomat of peace. Therefore a morning suit should be ordered bespoke.

Re: I met Vaclav in New York!

I am feeling many emotion, from all the kind comments here. As I came to the forums, all I ever wanted was  acceptance, for who I am, not for who someone else chooses. I think this is something universal, but so many are timid of their own.

Miles, any day you come to NY we can enjoy a lobster roll. But in London, I would like to try, a sticky toffee pudding, with fish and chip, if it's ok for you?

Re: I met Vaclav in New York!

More from 'The WASP Cookbook' by Alexandra Wentworth -
Steaming Lobsters in Heineken !
Anybody tried it?
She says it works.
I'm very interested in the difference in taste.
Please advise.

Will Vaclav's booksigning tour take him to the west coast?  I have a guest room for you, with a good selection of bedtime music from Agnostic Front to Brother Jack McDuff

Vaclav, I'm sorry to hear you were attacked by an English hooligan. They are a sort of nationanist, no?

Re: I met Vaclav in New York!

I'm sorry to learn of your terrible ordeal, Vaclav.  But, this, after all, is a style forum, so we must know:  Were your assailants wearing center vents or side vents? 2-button or 3-button?  Working sleeve buttons?  Any other distinguishing characteristics?
