Great pics guys. Enjoy.

Yeah, he's a cliche but some great pics.

With a smile this great, it's a shame he didn't do it more often.

JP, great blog! Happy to see you on the forum. I thought your piece today on Shepard Fairey was quite good.

Thank you, sir.  I've been a fan of FNB for some time.

Best,

While I think we all agree that the jacket--G9 or not--is iconic, who here would wear it?

My complexion tends toward the red, especially when angry, drunk or embarrassed. Also, it's a little bright for my palette. So, my vote's a no. What do others think?

I would wear it in natural, or black for the tough-guy in me.  But, if I had my drothers, I'd spend my money on something else, like a new pair of shoes-

Anything similar in burgundy is a classic in my book so every now and then I'll be sporting mine ( weather permitting ).

^ Me too, I have a padded burgundy needlecord G9.

I still need to get rid of my made in USA bright red woolen Ralphy one. Fantastic quality jacket, but a typical case of "it seemed a good idea at the time". I love red for socks and accents but I can't do a solid red top.

Joking about toastmasters aside, I still have no clue what a smedley is. Please excuse me my ignorance and fill me in.

The G9 was something mythical for me from childhood and on. I got turned on to it by the versions a lot of skate wear brands made during the 90s.

On the problems of bad copies, it took more than a few poorly-made, non-breathable tan spring jackets before I finally figured that the original was the G9 and picked myself up one. I now have a vintage tan one and a slim-fit navy (I'm not so keen on that sea of tan khaki look that I engender when matching chinos with the tan jacket). I think anyone looking for a cheaper alternative wouldn't do too badly to turn to that Orvis copy. Has anyone picked it up?

A really good Davis pic. Amazing collar roll, nice khakis (hey wait, are those as baggy as Bills M2, me thinks so). Shame it isn't in colour.
