^ I love the theme music from that film. Somewhere on YouTube is a nice compilation of scenes accompanying the theme. I listen to it often at work. Caine was hard-ass in that film.

Agree about Nicksull.

I know that both wing and turndown collars are correct for black tie. Still, in this day and age, a wing collar with black tie just strikes me a very "high school prom rental." Is it wrong for me to feel that way?

One wouldn't need such exaggerations to make it a worthy read; the Carlo Franco story alone could sustain itself as the main plot arch.

Very 'all dressed up' is the cummerbund & has been for years & years & years.
I intend spending the season which started last night entirely Black Tie free.
All these things are so debased now.

I kinda agree with formby, the only thing I wouldn't wear is black tie or a tuxedo. Maybe I've watched too many BBC costume dramas. I think it's best if middle-class and working class folk just wear a really nice suit & tie.
