Re: Mimmo Siviglia: The Making Of A Maestro

The backs of the coats look sculpted, they are that perfect.  Not a centimeter of excess cloth, not a wrinkle or imperfection.  Cleanest tailoring I've seen, back and front, including my own coats.  Siviglia was called upon by Savile Row firms years ago to teach the finer points of tailoring, and judging from some recent pics of work emanating from The Row, there is a desperate need for Mimmo to return for remedial tutoring.

One thing l really find striking about the Mimmo Siviglia shirts are the high collars; makes the shirts look real artistic. Wish some of my shirts had high collars like that.

Re: Mimmo Siviglia: The Making Of A Maestro

Thanks, Cruz, for posting the larger pic.  At the risk of betraying my complete ignorance of formalwear, what is the purpose of the strip of cloth w/button at the waist?  Possibly to keep the cummerbund in place?  Enjoy the shirt and good luck maintaining those beautiful pleats! smile
