My Official Return to AAAT -

I've thought about it.

I've talked about it.

Today or tomorrow I'll put in a proper application under my original Russell Street details asking for a new account so I can join in the Trad forum as myself and not via my sock puppets. I'll call it 'Russell Street 2' or something and they'll be able to tell it's me & not a hoax by the URL & email address I'll use.

It just seems daft to pretend I don't post there. None of us is fooling each other.

Obviously they'll need to have a think about having me officially back. They could even have a poll on the forum if they liked.
If back I'd drop my sock puppets and abide by the Andy rules, obviously. No teasing, no hair pulling, no making faces.
I'd even be quite relaxed about my posts going for moderator approval before they appeared on the forum in the usual way they do with problem posters. Why not?

It would just be nice to openly talk Ivy over there now they're all so much more savvy.
Last year I wouldn't have wanted to, but this year the place is better than ever I think. People are thinking so much more.

I've no interest in anything else over there, just the Trad forum & even then it's just the clothes that interest me. I'll leave the lifestylists to get on with it by themselves.

I wonder if they'll have me back to share my knowledge and join in the debate?

I hope so.

j.

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

Since most of the interesting people are posting here under different names, why not preach to the unconverted.  I think Stinks learned his lesson about poaching my posts, so I don't that you'd have to sort that tangle.  Give it a go.  Though , nonetheless, these suck puppets you keep pulling out of the woodwork are entertaining.

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

maybe there could be an fnb field trip back to bbr: everyone's Uncle Russell of course, Uncle  Horace, Cousin Marc, Grandpa Fogey, Mr FNB, and others who relish their anonymity. I will pack the lunches...maybe Tom will be our chaperone?

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

I don`t know wether I like this Idea- having been rejected at AAAC ( never got as far as being banned- in fact never even got my big toe through the door) .

It will mean I am left here alone with no one to talk to but myself.

I have never been convicted of a crime- but the word fellon -reminds me of a chap called Fallon- who is in the British newspapers at the moment
I know him quite well- I was asked by a mutual aquaintance to deliver brown envelopes to him on quit a regullar basis- nice chap but in a touch of bother at the moment- something to do with race fixing.

The chaps allmost certainly innocent- he used to give me some whizzer tips.

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

Thanks, Tom.

I've set the ball rolling anyway and am quite excited about what might happen. It feels like it could almost be of historic importance if it happens.
Would Andy have me of all people back?
Could he find it in his heart to love a sinner?
Could I be the bridge towards understanding and reconcilliation on the MBs?

Only one man can decide.

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

When do you think the best time might be to make my application?

I emailed Andy at about 10.45am UK time just after I'd posted about my plans on this forum, so he should get my email (via his 'Ask Andy A Question' account) when he hits the office. Is there another, better email account for him?

What I want to do is to make sure that when they get my application they know what's behind it & don't just think I'm trying to tease them with another silly application like in the past.

Maybe I should apply tomorrow just to be sure that they're expecting me?

Not sure.

Thoughts?

I don't want to catch anybody in a bad mood.

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

perhaps a parrable would be appropriate at this juncture.

If a man owns 100 sheep , and one of them wanders away from the flock, will he not leave the 99 other sheep on the hills and go to look for the one that wandred. If he finds it , is he not happier about that one sheep than about the 99 that didn`t wander?

the story of the prodigal son would also be an apt metaphor - I feel.

Jack, please feel free to use my name as a reference.  If there's anything else I can do to insure that your application remains in good standing, please do not hesitate to let me know.  Yr Humble, &c., Horace.

I do not ask Andy for a fatted calf, only for the chance to talk Trad at his table.

Jack, it makes me sad to think we may have to share you.  Does that make me a jealous lover?

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

I guess later on today everybody over there will be having a big meeting to discuss me so I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you know what happens.

I'm going to make my official application now & hope for the best.

Wish me luck -

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

There - All done.

I had to use a different email address (I chose the name John Cheever Esq as a tribute to the great man) but my old Russell Street IP address will let them know it's me.

So now as we speak "Russell Street 2" is under official consideration to become a member of Ask Andy's Trad Forum.

Time I took a break for lunch -

Re: My Official Return to AAAT -

I have a personal cheque here, made to $1 million, for you Jack, if they ever let you back.
It is a safe bet, I believe, that I will keep the money.
